WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST WEIGHT LOSS OR BODY CHALLENGE RIGHT NOW?.
How to Lose Weight Fast, Is it even possible for your body? – 7 Ways to Find Out…
Summer is approaching quickly & you didn’t get a chance to lose the weight like you planned.
If it’s not summer you’re planning on losing weight for, it’s the wedding that’s right around the corner, or another major event on the horizon.
Whatever the case may be, you need to lose weight fast!
You don’t want to be judged by your friend for putting on extra weight. Now you’re trying to figure out how to drop pounds fast to avoid embarrassment.
Have you ever asked yourself the important question:
Is losing weight fast even possible for me?
Here are 7 ways to find out if losing weight fast is even possible for you.
1.ARE YOU WORKING AT NIGHT?
Working night shift is generally a major weight loss set back and it LARGELY holds you back from losing weight fast. Our bodies metabolism typically runs in relation to our circadian rhythm. According to the American Psychological Association, disrupting the circadian rhythm causes metabolic imbalance.
This means that sleeping during the day and being awake at night prevents your metabolism from running at it’s optimal rate.
Lets say you’d like to change your sleep pattern to lose weight. This is possible however, after working night shifts, it takes few days to a few weeks for body to transition to a normal sleep pattern.
As a result, it is not likely you will lose weight fast if working night shift.
2. UNDER CHRONIC STRESS?
Stress is LARGELY associated with weight gain. This is because when your body is under high stress it is releasing the “stress hormone” known as cortisol.
When cortisol is released into the blood stream it causes another hormone, known as insulin, to rise. The rise of insulin in the blood causes blood sugar levels in the body to drop.
A person who experiences a drop in blood sugar will experience unhealthy food cravings. This is the body’s natural response as it needs to elevated the blood sugar to an appropriate range by eating.
In order to start to lose weight, work on releasing stress which will decrease cortisol levels in the blood. This will result in weight loss by decreasing unhealthy food cravings, however everyone is different so it is hard to tell how quickly the weight will come off after stress relief.
3. WHO ARE YOU COMING HOME TO?
You may be wondering how your spouse or roommate has anything to do with your goal to lose weight fast.
Well, most people only have a certain amount of self control at the start of the day. This self control has typically been exhausted and worn off after a long day so who ever you come home to at night can have a MAJOR impact on your eating habits before bed.
They might bring home fast food or engage in other unhealthy eating habits that are just too tempting for you to resist. Eating high sugar foods or foods heavy in carbs before bed will GREATLY contribute to weight gain.
The best case scenario would be to come home to a spouse or roommate who is on the same page as you when it comes to healthy eating habits for weight loss.
If this is not possible for you, make sure to set boundaries and communicate your goals with your partner or roommate ahead of time. This will stop them from unintentionally sabotaging your weight loss efforts.
The sooner you do this, the sooner you will reach your weight loss goals.
4. SETTING REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS?
Recent marketing has bombarded us with unrealistic weight loss phrases such as “Loose 50 pounds in a day!” See that caught your attention didn’t it! I’m exaggerating with this exact phrase, but you get the picture.
Many of these false claims sound too good to be true and are completely unrealistic. These phrases are crafted get you excited and play with your emotions. If you’ start believing some of these unrealistic promises, you may be in for a rude awakening.
But what can you do about it?
Look at where you are starting and what your goals are. Are you extremely overweight and currently engaging in very unhealthy habits with a lot of soda and little activity. If so, small changes may result in weight loss a lot faster than someone who is already relatively fit, and relatively healthy but needs to lose that last bit of weight.
Be realistic with yourself to figure out if losing weight fast is really possible for you.
5. WHAT’S YOUR END GOAL?
The phrase “Lose weight fast” has a completely differently meaning to each individual person.
This is because everyone has completely different starting point and different end goal they are trying to reach as stated in previous point.
If your goals is to lose 8 pounds, losing 2 pounds a day would be considered fast.
However, if your goal is to lose 50 pounds, dropping 2 pounds a day would not be considered fast.
ITS ALL RELATIVE.
To solve this problem, set your weight loss goal, do what you need to do to achieve that goal, make appropriate adjustments accordingly and the weight will come off at a rate that is healthy to you body.
6. ARE YOU STARVING YOURSELF?
Starving yourself in order to lose weight fast will ultimately backfire. When you deprive your body of the nutrients it needs, alarm signals go off in your body.
Your body will then begin compensating by slowing the metabolism because it doesn’t know the next time it will receive food. It will also increase cravings to encourage you to eat.
Intermittent fasts are okay however over fasting for extended periods and exercising without eating can be cause your body to go into compensatory mode.
6. EATING TOO MUCH PROCESSED FOODS
When you are eating the wrong foods, it’s much easier to OVER EAT. The sooner you change your diet to eating the right foods, the faster you’ll experience weight loss.
High quality foods, such as fruits, vegetables and fish, are dense foods making them difficult to overheat. However, this is the opposite with low quality foods. Low quality foods, such as processed food, are less dense allowing them to be a lot easier to over eat.
The sooner you change your diet, the sooner you’ll decrease your overeating lifestyle and lose weight.
7. DRINKING ENOUGH WATER
Some people believe that in order to lose weight fast, they should eliminate water weight by not drinking as much fluid.
However, you need fluid to stay hydrated. Research shows that when you drink more water, you will naturally eat fewer calories throughout the day. So staying hydrated will allow you to eat less.
This change can be implemented right away and can contribute to faster weight loss.
However this does not apply to you if you have a condition which requires limiting your fluid intake such as Congestive heart failure or some renal conditions. If this is your case, resort to other options for losing weight.
